Outdoor Year 2013

This is the 3rd year I am writing the annual summary of the activities and exploration that me and Zuzka have experienced. Never give up living an interesting and adventurous life with new and memorable experience.

2013 I improved my confidence in rock climbing and accomplished first multi pitch climbs. I now have a playboat that I learned some new moves on and I taught Zuzka basic WW kayaking skills. Zuzka also became a freerider and is comfortable in powder and steep terrain. We spent numerous nights in backcountry, skied powder, learned a little bit of alpine touring and as the highlight of season we visited Alaska for the 3rd time. Alaska, and I have to say it once again, is the greatest place on earth and everyone should taste it at least once in the lifetime. We explored another new part of AK in Prince William Sound - Cordova and Valdez. We also visited my favorite city Vancouver again.

The 4 highlights of 2013:

  •  getting back to freeride skiing and skiing the Delirium Dive on Sunshine and back gullies of Lake Louise
  • climbing the Kid Goat 5.8 multi pitch route
  • kayaking 100km solo overnight trip on Kootenay River (WW2)
  • kayaking Copper River on Alaska during the 5 days expedition

For 2014, I would like to set a goal as experience winter camping, get into easy trad climbing and kayak more rivers with overnights.
